Mindful Living: Practices to Center Your Mind and Body

mindful living practices to center your mind and body

Take a deep breath.

Look around you.

There is always something in our present moment to embrace. To be grateful for. Whether it is the warmth of the sun on your face, the cool breeze wheezing past you, or birds chirping outside your window.

These moments of stillness ground you to your inner peace and help you find calm and focus in your stressful day.

In the midst of life’s craziness and struggle to find zen, mindfulness can be your savior. Mindful living is about living with purposes. Finding your way to be intentionally present at the moment and appreciating life around you.

Mindful living is not a one-time fix, rather, it’s a lifestyle approach that requires you to continuously reflect and assess the present moments and make necessary changes in your day. By consciously being present, we can quiet the noise that surrounds us and create a peaceful sanctuary that helps us center our minds and body.

What Is Mindful Living?

Life is happening right now. In the present moment. (While you are reading this post).

Sometimes in between worrying about the future and regretting the past, life happens. And before you even realize it, it is gone. We come to realize about the lost moment’s importance when they are out of our reach. While lost moments are forever gone, you still have your present moment. That is the beauty of life. You always have a present moment to embrace.

Mindful living encourages us to slow down. It makes us savor the moment rather than rush through life in a blur and appreciate all the little things that make our day more meaningful.

Mindful living is a lifestyle you choose to live with consistent awareness and intentions. It is about taking a step back and appreciating your life with all its flaws and nuances. It is a way of life as it unfolds before us to make better choices that align with our values.

Bringing Mindfulness Into Your Everyday Routine

Mindful living is not just about fixed isolated activities like yoga or meditation, rather it is a vast concept that can be introduced in your day the way you want. The simple act of being present connects you to your inner self and brings well-being, and harbors more growth.

1.  Mindful Self-Care

Self-care is the foundation of our well-being.

It is a daily process of identifying your physical and emotional requirements and attending to them through shaping your daily routines.

In mindful self-care, elements of mindfulness are added to your daily rituals to bring more awareness to the act. It makes your ritual more intentional and health-giving by taking care of yourself mindfully.

Mindfulness intervention shapes your self-care routine and increases your physical health, and emotional well-being, which prevents any mental health issues. Like being aware of your thoughts, paying attention to the small wonders of the day, and being mindful of what you take in, both physically and mentally.

2. Practicing Mini Meditation

For those lacking time and patience for the longer meditation sessions, mini-meditation can be a great way to start the practice and still get those unfiltered benefits that motivate you to stick to it.

Mini meditation sittings can be practiced for at least 60 seconds or up to 10 minutes.

While 10 minutes is considered the minimum threshold to get more focused and increase calmness, one minute of meditation can clear your mind and make you aware of the space around you by gently shifting your attention.

Whenever you feel like you are losing your grip on your current situation, try mini meditation as per your time restriction. Don’t let its shorter sessions doubt its ability to get you the most benefits. Its deeper and longer breathing practice can bring your breath and mind, both to their natural rhythm. It can be really effective when you need to quieten your mind or stabilize your hypersensitive feeling for better control over your emotions.

3. Digging Deeper Into Intentions

Setting an intention is an empowering act.

It gives you the strength to make choices that can be aligned with your high values and makes you the creator of your life.

As Maxx said. “Instead of feeling like a victim of circumstance, you become the conscious creator of your days and your life.”

When you set intentions, rather than just going on autopilot, you take the steering wheel of your day into your hand. You are the driver behind and take your day where you want to be.

In your personal growth journey shifting your focus from external goals to deeper intention becomes necessary. When you set your intention for a particular task, you need to shift your focus to a passion for your desire to grow to get a deeper understanding of your goal or Any motivation that drives you to want to succeed in this endeavor.

Digging deeper into your innermost thoughts and feelings enables you to identify and acknowledge your true intentions and your motives.

Just showing up daily with the right intentions keeps you committed to your goals with a clear sense of purpose and direction.

4. Bring In Constant Consciousness

Mindful living is about living in the present moment.

Being here and now.

It’s about being aware of your surroundings, your physical self, and your emotional state.

These days, It is easy to get caught up in daily life hustles and let external goals chase you away from your actual purpose. The smothering presence of the outside world and overpowering digital presence has made it difficult to focus on life happening at the moment. As you are always working toward something without any dead ends.

By bringing continuous consciousness into your everyday life, you let awareness find balance for you. The constant intervention of consciousness lets you bring awareness into the present moment and make you aware of your thoughts and actions.

On purpose, you create a deeper understanding of yourself and your surroundings to reflect and make necessary changes to your lifestyle.

5. Make the Most of Daily Reminders

One way you can welcome mindful living in your day is by making the most of your daily reminders.

A positive daily reminder nudges you throughout the day in the direction of what is important for you. They can become your guiding light in the face of challenges and reinforce your belief back in yourself and set a positive tone that can provide an additional source of motivation to your day.

Starting your day with gentle reminders and repeating them throughout your day serves as a mindset shift that can affect your day and your life greatly.
